- Nothing is lost when coverage fails
- The unit speaks Codec 8 over a direct TCP link and replays every packet until the server acknowledges it. Recovery is the protocol's job, not a promise on a slide — a truck out of coverage for an hour delivers that hour when it comes back.
- The decoding is tested, not assumed
- Codec 8 / 8 Extended and the FMC650 frame parser each carry unit tests, replayed on every delivery. A protocol read wrong is a fleet counted wrong, and it stays silent until someone checks a bill.
- Going back is changing a tag
- Every service ships as a container and every image carries its version tag. Rolling back to yesterday's build is a tag change and a restart, not a reinstallation.
- History is a database, not files
- Positions and engine readings land in a time-series database, with Prometheus and Grafana shipped alongside. You can ask a question about last quarter without asking us first.
